Website design for therapists

The difficult part is usually not the colour of the page. It is how to describe a modality, a length of therapy, or a way of listening, so that a new visitor can follow it. People rarely arrive searching for a school of therapy. They arrive because something in life has become hard to carry.

Say the work in ordinary language

The site can name your approach — person-centred, integrative, transactional analysis, or whatever is actually yours — and still use words a stranger can read. I can help with that wording. I still work as a counsellor, so I’m used to the gap between how the work is described in training and how it needs to read on a page.

Where you are, and who you can see online

If you see people in a particular town, that town should be easy to find. If you also work online, say so. Online sessions may be open to people across the UK, and the page should say that plainly, without implying you have a room in every county.
