For practitioners

SEO for counsellors

People looking for a counsellor often search with a place, a difficulty, or a name. This is help making your pages say those things clearly. It is not a promise of a ranking.

SEO for counsellors, as I offer it, is practical. The title of the page, the short description that can appear in search results, and wording that matches how you describe the work. I quote that help before we begin, for a new site or one you already have.

What I can help you set up

Your name and membership. The towns where you actually see people. A plain statement if you work online across the UK. Headings a visitor can follow, and a contact route that is easy to find. The same outline sits on the services page.

What I will not claim

I won’t promise a position on Google, a number of visitors, or a number of clients. Search results change. A clear website is the part we can take responsibility for.

Places you practise, not places that merely sound useful

If you see people in one town, that town belongs on the site. If you work online, the UK can be named as the reach of that online work. I will not add pages for towns where you do not practise.

I’m based in North Yorkshire and I work remotely with counsellors and therapists throughout England and the wider UK. I don’t have offices elsewhere, and your site should not suggest that I do. A new one-page website includes a page title and a short description. Wider search support is quoted separately. If the current site is the wider problem, look at counselling website redesign first.

Homepages that state the practice plainly

These are examples of clear homepages. They are not evidence of a position on Google.

If this sounds like your practice

A few lines is enough. I’ll reply myself, usually within two working days, and I’ll tell you the cost before anything starts.
